1. Undervaluing love for Him is the enemy of Wonder.

2. Previous opinion is the enemy of His Wonder.
Vs. 9 “out of whom He had cast seven demons”

3. Disbelief after evidence hinders God’s wonder in your life.
Vs. 10-11 “as they mourned and wept…they did not believe her”
4. God Himself corrects doubt when someone testifies about
His wonder.
Vs. 14 “He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they did not believe those who had seen Him”

2. Christ invites us all to examine His wonder.
Vs. 39-40 “Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself.
Handle Me and see…He showed them His hands and His feet”

3. Christ alone can reveal His wonder for your life.
Vs. 45 “And He opened their understanding, that they might
comprehend the Scriptures.”

1. Obedience in the unknown always precedes God’s wonders.
Vs. 22 “Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go
before Him to the other side”
Heb 11:8
2. God has prepared wonders for all His children.
Vs. 25 “Jesus went to then, walking on the sea”

“If you want a wonderful experience, take your New Testament and
use a concordance to look up the two little words, but God. See how
many times human resources have been brought to an utter end;
despair has gripped the heart and pessimism and gloom has settled
upon a people; and there is nothing that can be done. Then see how
the Spirit of God writes in luminous letters, but God, and the whole
situation changes into victory.” – Ray C. Stedman

3. This fallen world desires to have our attention.
Vs. 30 “But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was
afraid…”
4. Experiencing Jesus is the greatest wonder to ever experience.
Vs. 33 “Truly you are the Son of God”

Those truly transformed by Jesus Christ find themselves lost in
wonder and joy of communion with Him. Prayer is as natural for the

Many Gifts…Many Witnesses
I Cor. 12:1-11
1. Spiritual gifts must be studied and talked about.
Vs. 1 “I do not want you to be ignorant…”
2. God-centered spiritual works have many forms.
Vs. 4-6 “There are diversities of gifts…differences of ministries…
diversities of activities…”
I Cor. 12:17-22

“The One God has a glorious diversity in the way He does things. We
should never expect it to be all according to our own emphasis and
taste.” -David Guzik

The Discerning Gifts: Word of Wisdom (Stephen Acts 7, and Paul
Acts 23); Word of Knowledge (Jesus Matthew 17:24-27 or Paul Acts
27:10,23-26); Discerning of Spirits (the ability to tell the difference
between true and false doctrine, and between what is of the Holy Spirit
and what isn’t, Acts 8:18-23; 16:16-18).
The Dynamic Gifts: Faith (Matt 14:22); Healing & Working of Miracles
(Acts 3:1-10 & 14:8).
The Declarative Gifts: (Prophecy Acts 21:10-11, Acts 27:21-26);
Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues (I Cor. 14:13-15)

Tongues have an important place in the devotional life of the believer,
but a small place in the corporate life of the church. (1 Corinthians
14:18-19), especially in "public" meetings (1 Corinthians 14:23).

3. To be understood, spiritual gifts must be experienced.
Vs. 7 “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the
profit of all…”
